| July 15th 2008 ICT sector to make 30% energy savings. The ICT sector wishes to reduce energy consumption. It is estimated that by 2020, energy consumption by the ICT sector will have doubled compared to 2006! The ICT sector has therefore agreed with the Ministry of Economic Affairs that consumption in 2020 must have decreased by 30 percent. This intention was laid down in an agreement yesterday. It was also considered whether an energy saving of 50 percent is possible by 2030. |
